Pale Lilac Kunzite Polished Pebble

Pale lilac with a hint of pink, this opaque kunzite has fine, mottled variations in tone. Its glossy surface catches bright reflections across the rounded contours, giving definition to the soft color.

Polished by hand, the pebble has an elongated form with rounded edges. One end is rounded, while the other tapers at an angle. Kunzite is difficult to polish and shape, making the human work behind this finish worth noting.

This piece comes from Africa. Kunzite is a variety of spodumene whose purple coloration comes from traces of manganese. Joun selected this pebble for what he felt was its pleasing, quiet presence.
