Zambian Witches’ Finger Quartz Polished Pebble

This polished quartz pebble from Zambia is almost colorless, with a faint yellow cast and a translucent interior. Its irregular oval form has softly rounded edges and a glossy surface.

Fine brown points and short lines gather toward one side, resembling dry grasses held within the stone. The opposite side appears clearer, creating a quiet contrast between dense pattern and open transparency.

Known by the trade name “Witches’ Finger Quartz,” this piece comes from an early lot. The inclusions are identified in the curator’s notes as tremolite, also described there as white actinolite.

View the concentrated markings through a loupe, or place the pebble before a gentle backlight to compare its patterned and clearer areas. Handle it carefully, avoid water and direct sunlight, and keep it out of reach of children.
