Dark Labradorite Galaxy Sphere
Dark Labradorite Galaxy Sphere

With its dark base and shifting labradorescence, this sphere feels more like a galaxy than the aurora often associated with labradorite. The flashes appear and recede as the stone is turned beneath the light, revealing different areas from one viewing angle to the next.
Labradorescence is an optical effect created when light interacts with fine internal structures in the feldspar. For this piece, Joun recommends viewing it at night beneath a room light rather than in natural daylight. Slowly rotating the sphere may reveal flashes in places you had not noticed before.
Its substantial weight gives it a strong physical presence. Keep it on a suitable sphere stand for everyday display.
