Swirling Purple Charoite Pendant in Sterling Silver

Fine strands of light and dark purple gather into bundles, bending and weaving through this elongated oval charoite pendant. The pattern suggests layers of purple silk thread beneath a rounded, glossy polished surface, framed in sterling silver (925) with a bail at the top.

Joun selected this piece because its pattern felt like a textbook example of charoite’s distinctive appearance. The appeal lies in the interwoven strands as much as the color: a clear expression of the mineral’s characteristic fibrous, swirling texture.

The charoite comes from the Sirenevyi Kamen' Deposit in the Murunskii Massif, Aldan Shield, Russia. The piece was worked in Jaipur, India.

For closer viewing, gently change the direction of the light. White, silk-like areas catch and reflect it in places, revealing bright accents within the purple pattern.
