Joun’s first impression was the specimen’s remarkable transparency. Although highly clear, the quartz carries a very slight smoky cast; placing it on white paper makes its subtle tone easier to recognize.
The crystal is unpolished, preserving its natural surfaces and fine, barcode-like growth lines. These details are especially rewarding under side lighting.
For display, place it on a dark board or cloth and illuminate it from above. Light passes through toward the contact area, creating a quiet contrast between the clear interior and the darker surface beneath.
Handling
The termination and base have sharp areas. When moving the specimen, hold it by the broader faces or edges rather than the pointed sections.
