Our Commitment to Authenticity

Every mineral has its own identity, shaped by nature over time.

At EARTH RIVER, we believe that understanding what a specimen is, where it comes from, and what makes it distinctive is an essential part of appreciating it.

Our approach combines individual observation, careful selection, supplier information, and independent laboratory testing when appropriate.

We value accuracy over exaggerated claims, and believe that trust is built through transparency.

Individually Selected & Inspected

Every specimen at EARTH RIVER is personally selected and inspected by Joun, our curator and Specimen Experience Architect.

Each piece is examined for its natural characteristics, visual quality, condition, and overall presentation.

As many of our specimens are one of a kind, we also pay attention to the small details that distinguish one piece from another.

Our goal is simple: to present each mineral as accurately and thoughtfully as possible, allowing its natural character to speak for itself.

Independent Laboratory Verification

When a specimen requires additional identification or verification, we may consult independent gemological laboratories.

EARTH RIVER has previously commissioned testing from the Central Gem Laboratory (CGL), an established gemological laboratory in Japan.

Our records include laboratory identification reports for natural phenakite, opal, and moldavite, documented in February 2020.

These reports form part of our ongoing reference materials, supporting our approach to mineral identification and the information we provide.

Not every specimen is laboratory tested. Where independent testing has been carried out for a particular item, the relevant details may be provided in its individual listing.
